Air fryers are one of the most useful appliances in a kitchen, but they need to be cleaned regularly
Air fryers rank amongst the handiest gadgets for cooking, yet maintaining their cleanliness often proves to be amongst the most dreaded household tasks. During operation, these devices circulate scorching air at remarkable speeds to prepare meals, but this process transforms oil and fat into an airborne mist.
This oily residue infiltrates every corner of the appliance, and when neglected, these marks solidify into a stubborn brown coating that proves extraordinarily difficult to remove. Fortunately, cleaning specialists at Mulberrys Garment Care have revealed a straightforward method to ward off grease accumulation, requiring neither vigorous scrubbing nor specialist products.
They explained: “Address the mess right away. Allowing grease and food particles to sit in the air fryer overnight or for multiple days at a time makes them harder to clean up later, so get into the habit of cleaning them up right away.
“At a minimum, give your air fryer a good wipe down after each use to prevent oils from drying, even if you don’t get around to a deeper clean right away.”
Preventing grease marks from adhering to your air fryer, reports the Express.
The solution is remarkably uncomplicated – wiping down your air fryer following every use represents the most effective approach to maintaining cleanliness, as the greasy residue remains soft enough to eliminate with minimal effort.
Allowing grease to linger within an air fryer for extended periods, or even mere hours, creates cleaning difficulties, as it hardens progressively and becomes increasingly adhesive when repeatedly subjected to elevated temperatures. Cleaning an air fryer takes mere moments – simply grab a lightly dampened cloth and carefully wipe down the inside surfaces.
However, exercise caution and allow five to 10 minutes for the appliance to cool following use; touching the extremely hot metal could result in burns.
What other straightforward methods exist for maintaining a spotless air fryer?
When wiping down your device, check for any food debris at the base, as these particles can become burnt onto the surface during subsequent use.
These crumbs have a tendency to absorb oil, transforming them into stubborn, sticky marks, so remove the basket and give it a shake over the sink to avoid this problem.
Should you have additional time available, the basket or trays can be washed alongside your regular dinner plates and cutlery.
There’s no need to scrub the air fryer components immediately – instead, submerge them in a sink of hot, soapy water, allowing them to soak before rinsing.
Simply ensure all parts are thoroughly dried before returning them to the air fryer, and your appliance should remain pristine with less than five minutes of upkeep.
