Manchester United have reached an agreement to sell Altay Bayindir to Besiktas in the summer transfer window, according to reports in Turkey.
Bayindir joined United from Fenerbahce in 2023, initially serving as a backup option to Andre Onana.
However, Bayindir did start the first six Premier League matches of this season after the Cameroonian keeper fell out of favour under Ruben Amorim.
Onana would eventually leave on loan to join Trabzonspor, with the Red Devils completing a deadline-day swoop for Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.
And Bayindir has not made a single appearance in the league or the cup since Lammens took the number-one jersey at the end of September.
The 27-year-old looked unconvincing in the few opportunities given to him in a United shirt, and reportedly came close to leaving Old Trafford to join Besiktas in this year’s winter transfer window.
But the club have now reportedly reignited their interest in Bayindir, with Turkish media suggesting that both parties have reached an agreement over a €5 million (£4.3m) fee for the keeper.

Bayindir is also said to be willing to take a pay cut to return to Turkey.
His depature would leave a vacancy in United’s squad, although recent reports suggest that the aforementioned Onana is keen to try to win back his jersey when he returns from his loan in Turkey.
That task might prove difficult, though, given the impressive and assured start made by Lammens since his introduction into the first team.

Gary Neville was one of many who doubted whether the young Belgian could rise to the task, but the ex-United full-back now believes Lammens has a ‘big, big future’ at the club.
‘I’ve said it before, people get tired me saying it, I do think [the goalkeeper] is the most difficult position and most scrutinised position in English football,’ Neville recently said on Sky Sports.
‘I had my concerns when he came in, I thought: ‘Why would you take a chance with a goalkeeper who’s young, who’s not got the pedigree, he’s played in a different league, he’s going to come to Manchester United and it could eat him up’.
‘It is early, but he looks like he’s got the temperament and he’s got the technical quality, he’s doing the right things – he holds the ball when he should hold it, he punches when he should punch, but even when he punches it’s not one of those wild punches – everything seems under control.
‘This kid, he’s come in and I really have been impressed with him. He looks like he’s got a big, big future early days.’
