White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt faced backlash after she insisted that President Donald Trump did not confuse Iceland with Greenland during his speech to the World Economic Forum.In a Wednesday post on X, NewsNation correspondent Libbey Dean noted that “President Trump appeared to mix up Greenland and Iceland around three times.””No he didn’t, Libby,” Leavitt shot back. “His written remarks referred to Greenland as a ‘piece of ice’ because that’s what it is.””You’re the only one mixing anything up here,” she snapped at Dean.During his speech, Trump insisted that “all the U.S. is asking is for a place called Greenland.””And until the last few days, when I told them about Iceland, they loved me. I was like running it,” he continued. “But the problem with NATO is that we’ll be there for them 100%,” Trump added. “They’re not there for us on Iceland. That I can tell you. I mean, our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland.
