Its past time to have declare Trumps mental state a ‘national emergency’: columnist

President Donald Trump’s obvious mental decline is being ignored, alleged one editor. The nonprofit news site WhoWhatWhy argued Monday that it is taking far too long for the public to address the “volatile nature of Donald Trump” and classify it as a “national emergency.” The report noted that while some comedians have spent the past year mocking Trump, his mental state has been largely ignored by the same media outlets that sounded the alarm about President Joe Biden not being up to the job. “Pretty much every psychological or medical professional I speak with who closely studies Trump agrees: Aside from a recent, possibly age-related mental decline, he suffers from a lifelong, severe personality disorder. And the combination is deadly — more, somehow, than the sum of its parts,” wrote editor-in-chief Russ Baker. The column called Trump “dangerous” and argued that most Americans “know it.” In fact, the comments argue, the corporate media will continue to prop him up. “It almost certainly will not call out Trump’s brazen invasion of Venezuela and abduction of its president for what it actually was about,” the column added. While Trump may talk a big game, the “fear” is evident, as the administration continues to delay the release of the investigation files into Jeffrey Epstein and refuses to turn over special counsel Jack Smith’s full conclusions before the House Judiciary Committee. Some was released, but not all of it. “But here’s the thing: It’s not just about Trump’s mental state, it’s about the mental state of his entire entourage. Because malignant narcissists cannot tolerate authentic, healthy people, Trump has surrounded himself with a coterie of the deranged,” Baker wrote, arguing it represents “a mental health catastrophe for America and the world.” Baker went on to call on the “establishment” to act.Read the full column here.
