Sudan’s army has reportedly received and is considering a new proposal from the United States and Saudi Arabia for a truce with its rival paramilitary. FRANCE 24’s Mark Owen speaks with former Sudanese Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok. He says that the latest proposal is ‘the light at the end of the tunnel’. Since April 2023, the war between Sudan’s army and the paramilitary RSF has left tens of thousands dead and around 11 million displaced.
