The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) agent who was rammed by “activist” Renee Good in Minneapolis last week was hospitalised with internal bleeding after the incident, the Department of Homeland Security has confirmed. Jonathan Ross, who fired three shots at Ms Good after she drove her vehicle into him, suffered internal bleeding to his torso after the encounter. The extent of the federal agent’s injury has not been disclosed. Shortly after the deadly encounter, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed Mr Ross had been hospitalised and was discharged later that day.

Ms Noem said he was recovering from his injuries, adding the agent believed he was protecting his fellow officers from harm as Ms Good drove towards him.One source told CBS News that he has not returned to his law enforcement duties since the incident. Mr Ross, who has served as an Ice agent for more than a decade, was left in “excruciating pain” after being dragged by a car in a separate incident in June 2025. The encounter left him hospitalised and requiring 33 stitches, according to court documents. On Sunday, US Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino said Mr Ross “has had several threats against his life” over the last week, adding that he has been placed in a “safe location”.He told CBS: “He’s recovering from those injuries, and we’re thankful that he’s recovering.”Mr Ross has not spoken out publicly since the shooting. The Department of Justice’s civil rights division has not opened an investigation into whether the agent had violated Ms Good’s rights during the encounter.
