‘You work for the Democrats!’ Irked Trump ends roundtable after bashing CNN reporter

President Donald Trump was visibly irritated on Wednesday during a news conference at the White House after a reporter asked him about his Pentagon’s strikes against alleged drug boats in the Caribbean.Trump held a roundtable discussion with business leaders and cabinet officials. He took questions from reporters during the event, and many of them asked about the strikes and whether the administration would release video of one strike from Sept. 2 that has been heavily criticized on both sides of the aisle. After one reporter asked about the video, Trump snapped at her and then ended the meeting. “Mr. President, has Secretary [Pete] Hegseth told you why he hasn’t released the video of the second strike?” the reporter asked. “No he hasn’t,” Trump said. “I thought that issue was dead. I’m not surprised you’re bringing him. You must be CNN. Are you CNN?” Trump grew more irritated as he and the reporter went back and forth about whether lawmakers were still talking about the boat strikes on Capitol Hill. Hegseth gave a classified briefing to congressional leaders as well as Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA Director John Ratcliffe on Tuesday, Spectrum News reported. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said Hegseth wouldn’t commit to showing the Defense Department’s video of the incident to all lawmakers, according to Spectrum News. During the back-and-forth, the reporter told Trump that Democratic lawmakers are still talking about the strikes. Trump became even more frustrated after the comment. “You mean the people that you work for? The Democrats?” Trump snapped. “You know you work for the democrats, don’t you? You’re basically an arm of the Democrat Party.”
