The mother of jailed French journalist Christophe Gleizes has appealed to Algeria’s president for a pardon, calling his seven-year sentence “incomprehensible”. Arrested in May 2024 while reporting in Kabylia, Gleizes maintains he is innocent, and his case comes at a time of mounting tension between France and Algeria.
