Tottenham boss Frank confident of club rebuild ahead of PSG test

-Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank vowed to stick to his long-term rebuild plan despite a 4-1 Premier League defeat by Arsenal, as his side prepare for a daunting Champions League trip to Paris St Germain on Wednesday.

Tottenham were trounced by their north London rivals with Eberechi Eze scoring a hat-trick for Arsenal on Sunday.

Frank’s side have won only one out of their last five league matches, increasing the pressure on the Dane who took the job in June after replacing the sacked Ange Postecoglou.

With five victories in 12 games, Tottenham are ninth in the league with 18 points, 11 behind leaders Arsenal but Frank said he was the right man to revive their fortunes.

“One thing I’m one thousand percent sure of is I know how to build a team and how to build a club. We’ll do that,” Frank told reporters in Paris on Tuesday.

“Part of taking this job was to have challenges. Part of that is managing those setbacks, learn from it and move on.”

Frank, who is Tottenham’s fifth full-time manager in six years, turned his attention to European champions PSG and said his team could respond strongly.

“We’ll now be facing another of the best teams in Europe away from home,” the 52-year-old added.

“So it’s a nice challenge that we are one hundred percent up for and I’m convinced we’ll bounce back with a good performance.”

Tottenham are 12th in the Champions League with two wins in four games, and a win in Paris could potentially help them break into the top bracket.
