Japanese figure skater Yuma Kagiyama plans to try a difficult quadruple flip for the first time in his short program when he competes at the World Team Trophy beginning Thursday in Tokyo.
Kagiyama, who finished third when U.S. “Quad God” Ilia Malinin retained his world crown last month in Boston, has jumped the quad flip in his free skate.
