Florida state Senate Minority Leader Jason Pizzo is leaving the Democratic Party — and burning bridges on his way out, according to a new report.Pizzo said the minority party needs saving, but doesn’t want him to be the one to do it. “Here’s the issue: The Democratic Party in Florida is dead. But there are good people that can resuscitate it. But they don’t want it to be me,” he told Politico on Thursday.While some Democrats abandon the party for the GOP, Pizzo isn’t heading to join Republicans either. “The Republican Party has a lot of problems,” he said, according to the Politico report. He wanted “an audit of a local municipality,” and he said some called him a “racist” for doing so. “If anybody’s feelings are hurt and think I’m a racist for my position — suck it,” he said. Sen.
