A murder investigation has been launched after a teenager was stabbed to death in west London in what has been described as an ‘awful’ incident.
Keiron Charles, 17, was pronounced dead near East Acton Tube station on Erconwald Street at about 1.10pm on Saturday.
Metropolitan Police officers attended the scene alongside paramedics, but nothing could be done to save him.
Another boy, 16, was taken to hospital with ‘non-life-changing’ stab wounds and was later discharged.
A third boy, also aged 16, fled the scene but was arrested in the early hours of Sunday.
The two were arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to custody, where they remain.
Detective chief inspector Alex Gammampila said Keiron had ‘his whole life ahead of him’ as he appealed for any information that may help the case.
‘This is an awful incident in which a teenager has lost his life,’ he said in a statement.
‘The thoughts of everyone in the Met remain with Keiron’s family and loved ones as they begin to come to terms with their tragic loss.
‘While we are working hard to understand the exact circumstances, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident at this stage.
‘I’d like to appeal directly to anyone who was in the area between 1pm and 1.20pm on Saturday and witnessed the incident.
‘Keiron had his whole life ahead of him and any information might prove vital in achieving justice on behalf of his family.’
