Sarra Hoy has shared pictures with her husband Sir Chris to mark a special occasion. The couple celebrated their wedding anniversary yesterday, fifteen years after tying the knot.

Chris and Sarra have been married since 2010 and married at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh. They are proud parents to two children, son Callum born in 2014 and daughter Chloe, who arrived in 2017.

Taking to Instagram Sarra wrote four special words for her husband, saying “This is 15 years”, alongside a red heart emoji. A video shared to the social media platform showed the different stages of their career.

Special moments were shared from celebrating Chris’ Olympic medals to their wedding ceremony and holidays spent together. The video finished with a ’15’ written on the screen.

Family and friends sent well wishes as hundreds of comments were left for the couple to read. TV host Lorraine Kelly commented “Gorgeous” and comedian Paddy McGuinness wrote “Congratulations!”

Comments from fans were “God you are sooooo utterly gorgeous together” and “What beautiful photos Sara. Happy 15th Anniversary to you and @chrishoy1 At 15 years you each get a gold medal, right? Love to you both.”

The majority of messages were from people saying “Happy anniversary”, while lots of other followers replied with red heart emojis.

It has been a difficult couple of years for Sarra and Chris. The cycling legend was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer in 2024 and was told he had between two and four years left to live.

He shared his life experiences a bestselling book last year, which describes his cancer treatment and the lessons he has learned throughout his life. The Olympic cycling champion is battling advanced prostate cancer that has spread to his bones and is terminal.

‌Sarra also has an aggressive form of multiple sclerosis, a diagnosis she was informed of shortly after doctors told her husband that his disease had worsened to stage four. In an extract from his new book, All That Matters: My Toughest Race Yet, Chris wrote: “The future is a great unknown for us both now.

“There are moments where everything becomes unsteady and life feels too precarious, especially if we think too much about the future and the kids. Will we be around to care for our kids, will they be ok? Sarra’s treatment can only do so much and her condition is degenerative.

‌”But we find our way back from the pitfall of trying to predict the future. Sarra has found a characteristically courageous way to frame our situation, something we both come back to and feel grounded by.”

The wedding anniversary isn’t the only celebration the couple have enjoyed this year. At the end of March, Chris celebrated his birthday as he turned 49.
