WYLD Sauna, located on Princes Dock, is gearing up to launch a second site. The sauna provides a traditional Nordic experience, offering guests a place to relax and escape in the city centre.
The sauna experience launched in November, offering visitors the chance to enjoy a sauna with capacity for 30 people, ice baths and outdoor waterfall showers. The experience is the UK’s first floating sauna and allows people to dive directly into Princes Dock for an immediate cooldown.
Guests can control the temperature of the room with a bucket and pail used to carefully throw water over the sauna stones, creating a löyly (steam). Wyld has today announced it will launch a second site in summer.
Newly revealed plans include a custom-designed, 16-person floating sauna located next to the current site. The sauna will be available for private hire, group bookings, corporate sessions, and retreat-style experiences
Additional upgrades include private changing cubicles on the quayside, new showers for guests to rinse off with their own products, permanent toilets and improved dockside infrastructure, and a new quayside café and outdoor seating area.
Other improvements being made include upgraded sauna heaters for more consistent and powerful heat delivery, reduced general capacity to prioritise comfort and space, dedicated quiet sessions and women-only sessions.
Jon Miller, co-founder of Wyld Sauna, said: “The last six months have been an incredible start for Wyld, and we’ve been listening closely to our community every step of the way. Guests asked for more space, more privacy, better facilities and more varied sessions — and that’s exactly what we’re delivering.
“Everything we’re doing is rooted in the belief that nature, heat, cold, and connection should be accessible to all. We’re proud of what we’ve built so far, and these next steps allow us to keep growing with our community — creating something truly unique on the Liverpool waterfront.”
There will also be dedicated men-on and women-only sessions tailored times for Liverpool’s wider communities including faith-based groups, LGBTQ+ guests, and those aged 50 and over.
New formats such as silent or whisper-only sessions, sound baths, and aromatherapy-infused ceremonies will also feature in the weekly schedule.
Wyld can also be nominated in the Sauna Summit Awards 2025 across five categories including ‘Best Design’, ‘Best Waterfront Sauna’, and ‘Best New Sauna’. You can vote for Wyld here.
