Three people from the show managed to answer the last question correctly
The 1% Club returned to our screens tonight, with the last question leaving viewers at home frustrated. Three contestants managed to answer the final question in time successfully.
The players walked away with a third of the prize pot, which was £96,000. The unique ITV quiz show offers players the chance to win up to £100,000.
Hosted by Lee Mack, the show features 100 fresh contestants attempting to answer logic-based questions that progressively increase in difficulty.
According to a survey conducted by the show’s producers, 90% of the British public could answer the first question. However, only 1% of people can answer the final question correctly.
In this case, the final question was English-based but also with a time limit imposed. Contestants had to spell out a word from the remaining letters they decided to eliminate.
Five people made it to the final, each deciding not to take home the safety net of £1,000 but instead battling it out for nearly £100,000.
Three contestants, Gareth, Jack, and Maisie, each took home a third of the prize pot and officially joined the 1% club.
They went with the correct answer, which was head. Many players from home took to social media to express their frustration with being unable to figure it out in time.
Chris said his “brain was fried”, before adding, “I’m over it.” Another viewer said: “You have to really fly fast on that one.”
A separate fan, Oli said: “Guess it’s only luck, but you spot which words don’t have a rhyme within the time.” Liam T said: “Tough 1% #the1percentclub not a scooby.”
Ryan said: “Not a chance with that one for me”, whereas Gen added: “Went straight over my head the last one.”
The show will return to our screens as expected on Saturday, May 3.
