Mickey Rourke agreed to leave the house because of his actions
Celebrity Big Brother contestant Mickey Rourke has left the ITV show after repeated instances of “unacceptable behaviour”. The American actor and former professional boxer was in the house with the likes of former EastEnders star Patsy Palmer and Love Island’s Chris Hughes.
However, it would be Dance Mom sensation and singer JoJo Siwa, Mickey would offend several times. During Wednesday’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother, viewers saw Mickey receive a warning from Big Brother for unacceptable language and behaviour towards her.
Now, the team have said there had been further instances where Mickey had used inappropriate language.
Today, Saturday April 12, Mickey’s behaviour and language towards Chris during a disagreement in a task was considered to be threatening and aggressive, but no physical altercation took place.
A spokesperson for Celebrity Big Brother said: “Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour.”
Mickey caused havoc on the ITV show earlier this week when he asked JoJo, 21, “Do you like girls or boys?”, to which JoJo replied: “Me? Girls. My partner is non-binary.” Mickey said to JoJo: “If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore”.
Later in the episode, Mickey asked Chris if everyone had to vote one another out of the house. Mickey said: “I’m going to vote the lesbian out real quick.” JoJo overheard and said: “That’s homophobic, if that was your reasoning.”
Jojo was left upset by the conversation. The 21-year old shot to fame on American reality series Dance Moms, before she signed with Nickelodeon and also released her own music. She was named one of the the 100 most influential people in the world in 2020 on Time’s annual list.
Big Brother called Mickey to the Diary Room and said: “Mickey before you entered the Big Brother house the rules regarding unacceptable language and behaviour were explained to you.”
Big Brother then read back the entire exchange to Mickey and then said: “Mickey, do you understand how this language could be offensive to your housemates or the viewing public?”
Mickey said: “Yeah I think so. If I was saying it in a nasty kind of way or if I truly meant it.” Big Brother said: “Mickey, Big Brother thinks your language was offensive and unacceptable.”
“As a result, Big Brother is giving you a formal warning. Further language or behaviour of this nature could lead to you being removed from the Big Brother house. Mickey, do you understand?” Mickey said: “Yes I do. It’s some serious stuff.”
