Vitalii Mykolenko injury update ahead of Nottingham Forest vs Everton

Vitalii Mykolenko missed Everton’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal last Saturday (Reuters)

Vitalii Mykolenko is in contention to return for Everton’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The 25-year-old, who suffered a thigh injury during the last international break with Ukraine, missed the 1-1 draw against Arsenal last Saturday due to a knock.

However, Moyes has confirmed that the left-back has returned to full training this week ahead of Everton’s trip to Forest.

Elsewhere, Dwight McNeil is pushing for his first Premier League start since December after returning against Arsenal last weekend following a four-month absence due to a knee injury.

‘We’ve got Myko back on the grass training,’ Moyes said on Friday.

‘Dwight [McNeil] is back and we’re still trying to get them up to speed but they’re certainly in and around things.’

Meanwhile, midfielder Jesper Lindstrom is set to miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on Thursday.

‘Unfortunately, Jesper has had a hernia operation yesterday, so that will rule Jesper out, probably for most of the season now,’ Moyes said.

‘That’s disappointing for him and for us because he started to show some decent form in the past month or so and he was an important player for us.’

Everton currently sit 15th in the Premier League and are 15 points above the relegation places.
