He previously told Sunday People: “My dad was a carpet fitter all his life. He taught my brothers how to do it. Dad knew I was going to help Rob and encouraged me to do it – but laughed when I said I’d lifted my first tool.

“When I first started, I actually went to work in my dad’s old uniform. He’d always said you can work your way out of anything; to keep your head up high – and that’s what I’ve done.

“It was good to be with my family during that difficult time. I’ve been recognised the odd time but not that often because of social distancing and masks. Everyone has been really lovely.”

Away from his career, Ray is happily married to his wife Emily after the two tied the knot in October 2023 in a ceremony in Peckforton Castle. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Summer Reign Quinn, into the world in 2022.

He shared a snap of the three on holiday with the following year with his 99,300 Instagram followers as he said: “Me and my two gorgeous girls. Here’s to the next holiday..”
