Three Celebrity Big Brother contestants were forced to leave the ITV show in a shocking triple elimination tonight (April 22).
Following a tense face-to-face nomination session and the Save and Replace twist, Angellica Bell, Ella Rae Wise, Chris Hughes, Danny Beard, and Patsy Palmer were all put up for public vote.
JoJo, who had been nominated by her peers, discovered a golden egg in the Save and Replace challenge, saving her from the live eviction. She then had to choose someone to take her place, selecting Danny.
Angellica was the first to be evicted, and she was left stunned upon learning that two more celebrities would soon follow. Ella and Patsy were also voted out of the show, receiving the most votes.
Earlier, Angellica had confided in JoJo about her feelings in the house. In a conversation in the garden, the presenter revealed that something had been bothering her, reports OK!
“Donna hasn’t spoken to me today,” she shared. JoJo responded: “They haven’t spoken to you today? Donna hasn’t?” before adding: “It’s like the same thing with Danny. It’s not that deep, why do we care that much?”
This sparked a realisation from Angellica that they “aren’t my people,” prompting JoJo to offer her emotional support.
“And not everybody in life is going to be,” the singer said, comforting her. “And sometimes you have to learn that the hard way.”
Ella was the next to bid farewell to the house and during her exit interview, she finally spoke out about the friction with Chris.
“I feel like he never really took time to get to know me as a person,” she confided in Will and AJ.
Patsy, the last housemate to leave in what was the show’s inaugural triple eviction, expressed her appreciation for being part of such a historic moment on the show.
When confronted with claims that she dampened spirits in the house, Patsy responded: “The person that said I was bringing the mood down…. I don’t know, I must be a magician or something to bring their mood down… I was amazed she thought I had that much power.”
Viewers didn’t hesitate to voice their opinions on the evictions via social media. One fan wrote: “I actually feel sick, god this feels like that time if we did or didn’t know Trish was gonna go out or not.”
Another commented on Angelica’s eviction night demeanour: “Angelica’s reaction to finding out three are getting evicted was hilarious. Her walk out by dancing to the music. A mother who deserved to stay,” while a more sceptical viewer remarked: “What a fix producers want the antics of Chris and JoJo to carry on.”
In anticipation of tonight’s episode, ex-contestant Trisha Goddard had been on This Morning discussing the “cruel” face-to-face nominations with host Ben Shephard, admitting she was relieved to be out of the show.
“Very cruel, I really felt for everybody in there. All of them,” Trisha began. “Especially Chris because he’s been going at 200 miles an hour up until now.
“We saw him really break down, everybody break down, except JoJo because this is her world and this is what she knows.”
Celebrity Big Brother continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player
