Japan midfielder Ao Tanaka’s Leeds United clinched automatic promotion to the English Premier League for the first time in three seasons as Monday’s 6-0 home win against Stoke City guaranteed them a top-two finish in the second-tier Championship.
Both Leeds and Burnley are now on 94 points with two games left to play, but Leeds have a superior goal difference. Burnley also secured promotion after a one-year absence by defeating Sheffield United 2-1 the same day.
