Fans of new BBC crime series This City is Ours have been left demanding a second season
This City is Ours viewers have been hailing the new gritty crime series as ‘one of the best ever’ as the second episode aired on Sunday evening (March 30).
The BBC series stars Sean Bean as Ronnie Phelan, the head of a crime gang whose decision to retire kicks off a battle for succession between his loyal deputy Michael Kavanagh, (James Nelson-Joyce) and Ronnie’s son Jamie (Jack McMullen).
Things soon change when Michael meets Diana (Hannah Onslow), and the pair begin to imagine a crime-free future together.
However, when a cocaine shipment from Colombia goes missing, cracks soon begin to show, and they know their kingdom is under attack.

There is scheming, deception and death as both men make moves to secure their own future and that of the family, with it being anyone’s guess who will come out on top, or who make it through the series alive.
The first season consists of eight episodes in total, directed by The Sixth Commandment’s Saul Dibb and written by The Last Kingdom’s Stephen Butchard.
However, when the second episode kicked off on Sunday (March 30), viewers wasted no time in commending the crime series as ‘the best ever’.
Taking to X, one person wrote: “This city is Ours one of the best”, while a second added: “This City Is Ours, top top series.”
A third urged: “BBC get This City is Ours renewed asap!! Best show the BBC has ever produced #thiscityisours.”
