A man has been arrested on suspicion of driving while over the drug drive limit
An elderly man is fighting for his life following a serious crash. At 3.49pm on Monday (March 17) Cheshire Police was called to the scene of a crash on Rectory Lane, near to the junction with Rectory Gardens.
When officers arrived they found a silver Lexus had crashed with a red Hyundai Tucson. The driver of the Hyundai, an 85-year-old man, from Lymm, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the Lexus, a 56-year-old man, from Lymm, was arrested on suspicion of driving while over the drug drive limit. Following the incident, Sgt Simon Degg said: “There were two pedestrians on Rectory Lane at the time of the collision who I would urge to make contact with us.
“The same goes for anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police, or anyone who has dashcam footage that may assist with our investigation.”
