Emmerdale viewers saw a new face make their way into the village, and get involved in the life of one fan favourite character whose fate is yet to be revealed. Gina showed up at the depot looking for Caleb Miligan. The pair chatted all things business, before sealing a deal and said cheers “to the future.”
Caleb has had his fair share of drama on the ITV soap, as he has been part of a murder plot involving Anthony Fox. In a heartbreaking turn of events, it was revealed that his wife Ruby had been sexually abused by her dad when she was a child.
After the DNA test results were revealed, Anthony turned out to be the real biological father of Caleb’s daughter Steph, which left Caleb devastated. If that wasn’t enough, Ruby betrayed him by sleeping with his half-brother Cain Dingle in the midst of dealing with the trauma of her difficult admission.
Caleb helped Ruby move on from killing her own dad, and the couple disposed of his body in the woods, with the help of John and Aaron. The heartbroken parents recently opened up to Steph about the devastating truth about her missing grandad.
After recovering from the situation, Caleb has got back into the swing of things at the depot during Wednesday’s episode of the ITV soap. Gina arrived to finalise a business deal, but Caleb had no idea he was being set up by Joe Tate.
Joe is currently suffering from chronic kidney failure and is in search of an eligible donor. He admitted to spiking Noah in attempt to get him into surgery for his kidney. But his plan failed, and unfortunately led to Noah causing the tragic limo crash which killed Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough), Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi).
Caleb is Joe’s next victim, involving Gina into his dark master plan. She drugged Caleb, with the hopes they would somehow be able to go ahead with an operation to steal his kidney to save Joe’s life.
Taking to social media, viewers began to work out if Gina was hiding a closer link she has to one of the villagers. One suggested: “I wonder is Gina, Really Jean Tate?” Another added to the conversation on X: “Gina HAS to be Jean, right?”
Jean is the daughter of Zoe Tate and left the show years ago, the Mirror reports. If Gina is really Jean this would make her the cousin of Joe, and the niece of Caleb – the man she is cruelly targeting.
The sinister organ donor plot is getting more and more difficult for Joe, who is running out of time. His doctor, Dr. Crowley, told him that the operation needs to be get underway as soon as possible.
He told Joe: “There’s no more room for error”, following the failed attempt at using Noah. Joe told the doctor he “didn’t need to know” who he had lined up next, but assured him he had the situation under control.
Elsewhere on the soap, Ella said goodbye to the Dales after Manpreet kicked her out of her house. Ella has been at the centre of a whirlwind storyline, which saw Chas Dingle collapse to the floor in The Woolpack.
She became number one suspect as the “psycho” ex-girlfriend who had a real motive to harm Liam’s new fiancée. Ella opened up to Manpreet, insisting she wasn’t the one who drugged Chas. Instead, she was convinced the incident was self-inflicted, suggesting that Chas had a drug problem.
The villagers began to turn against Ella, who eventually lost control and departed from the village during tonight’s episode. Ella’s fate was left unsealed, with viewers left wondering if she will return.
