Gogglebox fans were confused as they questioned where one family was during tonight’s episode. Fan favourites including the Warners, the Sandifords and the Siddiquis appeared on our screens this evening (Friday, March 21) to offer their views on a number of TV shows, including The Great Celebrity Bake Off: Stand Up To Cancer, Tempting Fortune and Bradley Walsh: Egypt’s Cosmic Code.
Michael, Sally, and their twin sons Harry and Jake are the fresh faces on the hit Channel 4 show, having joined in October last year. The family, from Kent, failed to get much air time during Friday’s episode, which left fans questioning why this might be the case.
Taking to social media, one viewer wrote: “I wonder if the posh family are being quietly edged out of this? They haven’t been in it much tonight so far.” Another also noticed the family were only shown for a “two second reaction shot”.
Viewers instead turned their attention to a more familiar family of armchair critics. The Malone family are a fan favourite since joining the cast in 2014 and have been a show staple, proving their popularity with audiences.
The family are made up of mum Julie, dad Tom, and sons Tom Jr, and Shaun. Earlier this week, the Malone family account posted a family update, they wrote: “Happy 30th birthday to our youngest son!!! Happy birthday Shaun Malone xxxx.”
The post included three photos, Shaun with his parents and the Gogglebox star with the family dog. Fans took to the comments of the post to send well wishes. One fan commented “Wishing you the happiest of birthdays Shaun”, a second wrote “Happy Birthday Shaun, I hope you have a great day.”
A third Gogglebox viewer added “Happy birthday, you 2 must have been very young ,long time together-lovely” and further responses included “Happy Birthday Shaun. Have a wonderful day, mate. Love always from Amanda (a fan)” and “Happy birthday” alongside a red heart emoji.
