A 95-year-old atomic bomb survivor who lost five family members in the 1945 Nagasaki blast is making her anti-war presence felt on social media, where she has gained a significant following.
Fumiko Morita was 16 years old when the U.S. military dropped the atomic bomb on Aug. 9, 1945. She boasts 85,000 followers on her X account where she is known as “I am 95” and occasionally reserves harsh words even for the Japanese government while calling on world leaders to heed the stories of A-bomb survivors, who have limited time left to convey messages in their own words.
