Former NBA player and coach Corey Gaines is set to become the head coach of the Japanese women’s national team, sources familiar with the matter said Tuesday.
Gaines, a 59-year-old from the United States, served as a coach under Tom Hovasse for Japan’s men’s team at the 2023 World Cup and 2024 Paris Olympics.
