Donald Trump’s attorney is “taking heat” after saying she is a “big fan” of a right-wing internet influencer who has been accused of trafficking women.
Alina Habba represented Trump in court when the then-candidate was accused of and ultimately found liable for the sexual abuse of writer E. Jean Carroll. More recently, Trump announced a role for Habba in his upcoming administration.
Habba made the controversial comments about former kickboxer Andrew Tate in a Friday appearance on Benny Johnson’s podcast, according to PennLive.

“Tate, 38, and his brother, Tristan, 36, are currently facing human trafficking charges in Romania. They have denied those charges. Tate also has a well-documented history of misogynistic comments and views,” the report states before quoting Habba.
“Hey… Nice to meet you! I’m a big fan!” she said to Tate, according to numerous reports. She also said, “I think that your anger is the same that President Trump has for our country.”
“And the time is now for us to stop being wimps. I think that’s exactly the right sentiment,” the attorney then added. “And I also have to say that I sympathize with you because I think you go through a lot of the same ‘show me the person, I’ll find the crime’ that President Trump has gone through.”
Writer and activist Lucy Brown said, “This is alarming.”
“Supporting a man accused of rape and human trafficking – including minors – will damage the MAGA movement irreparably,” she added. “Shocking lack of judgment from a lawyer.”
Ex-Muslim activist Ridvan Aydemir called the comments from Habba “disgusting.”Republicans against Trump also called the comments “absolutely disgusting,” and noted that Habba purportedly “specifically requested to be on the show after learning that the creepy Andrew Tate would be there.””This is MAGA,” the group added. At least one popular MAGA account, “The Misfit Patriot,” also called out the comments.
“MAGA has an Andrew Tate problem and it’s a big f—– problem,” the account wrote, tagging both Tate and Habba.
“Y’all better wake the f—- up and see what he’s doing before he ruins everything we’ve worked for,” the account then added. “Stop acting like a dog who finally caught the car. We still have work to do and you’re f—– up.”
