Trent Alexander-Arnold was seen with his brother in a new family update. The 26-year-old from West Derby has continued to impress under new Liverpool head coach Arne Slot, picking up five assists as the team sit top of the Premier League and the Champions League.
However, the right-back’s contract for the Reds expires at the end of this campaign, meaning he could leave his boyhood club on a free transfer. Last night, it was revealed that Liverpool had rejected an approach from Real Madrid about the possibility of signing Alexander-Arnold in the January transfer window.
The Spanish giants have long been linked with a move for the Reds’ right-back. Alexander-Arnold has not spoken publicly since this news emerged.
His brother Marcell did a post on Instagram last night, recapping 2024. In several pictures taken across the year, Alexander-Arnold was seen smiling with his brother and Aura, who is Marcell’s young daughter.
Marcell also posted a picture of himself at Anfield with Aura for a Liverpool game. In the caption of the post, Marcell said: “The marathon continues.” Many of the comments were flooded with Liverpool supporters asking Marcell if he could persuade his brother to stay on Merseyside.
Alexander-Arnold’s other brother, Tyler, is a director at the PLG. The agency represents the Liverpool right-back as well as left-back Andy Robertson and former captain Jordan Henderson.
Alexander-Arnold has previously praised his two siblings for putting aside their ambitions to ensure he had everything he had to make it at the highest level. He said: “As I got a bit older, and I moved up through the Liverpool academy, Tyler and Marcel willingly sacrificed their own dreams for mine.
“I think maybe we all realised at a young age that being a professional footballer was more realistic for me. And my parents did, too. That’s a hard thing for a young lad to understand.
“There were weekends when mum couldn’t take my brothers to their matches because I had to be at the academy at a certain time — and it was always them who made the sacrifice. To this day I’m so incredibly grateful to both of them.”
