The Traitors’ Leanne Leanne Quigley has been flooded with messages of support after she shared the emotional reason why she is doing the show. The popular BBC show is entering the latter stages with the final episode set to be broadcast on Friday.
Leanne is one of the remaining Faithfuls hoping to make it to this week’s grand finale. The most recent episode broadcast saw Leon Jackman get banished after a tense roundtable.
The remaining players were invited to a dinner party when they shared the reasons why they have competed. Leanne took to Instagram after the episode and said her family spurred her on throughout the game.
The 29-year-old former soldier said: “That was an emotional one to end on. We all needed that dinner to take a break from THE most stressful game and really feel the love. It’s easy to watch this show and have so many opinions but nobody will ever understand just how difficult it really is.
“Everything I do is for my family and my little boys. They fought so hard to be here and I’ll tell them every single day for the rest of my life how special they are.”
Leanne prematurely gave birth to twin boys in 2023 26 weeks into her pregnancy. Speaking on Friday’s Traitors episode, she said: “We spent the first three months when they were born in intensive care. They were in and out of hospital. We’ve been through a lot. But it’s good now”.
Leanne hopes to use the money to spend on IVF treatment for a new baby, adding: “I would love to have another baby. Obviously IVF doesn’t come cheap. I actually only ever wanted two children. I never expected to have twins. I’d love to give my twins another little brother or sister and get that experience I didn’t quite get to have. As a family we’ve been through a lot over the past year and a half.”
Leanne is in a happy relationship with her partner, Sophie Jones. The family have had to overcome a difficult period as Leanne revealed Sophie was diagnosed with cancer last year.
Earlier this month, Leanne revealed the only news the family wanted to hear as Sophie was told she is cancer free. She said: “On the 31st July 2024 my partner, and the mother of my children was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer. Watching the person you love fight through chemotherapy is up there with the worst things on earth.”
She added: “We quickly learnt to never take anything for granted ever again, and sadly had to learn that tomorrow is never promised and fear of the unknown literally killed us inside.
“Yesterday, Wednesday 8th January 2025, the strongest woman on planet earth was told she is cancer free. She did it. I cannot express or put in to words how proud I am, and how in awe I am of her strength every single day.
“Today we begin to truly celebrate us, our boys, and the excitement of the rest of our lives. I could never thank the NHS enough for quite literally saving my whole family. And the biggest thank you to our support system, we’re so lucky to be surrounded by the most incredible family and friends.
“For anybody fighting, or for anybody watching their loved ones fight this horrible disease. I see you and I feel you. Please don’t give up.”
People took to the comments to issue messages of support after the update. Kassia said: “Amazing news for you both and your family.”
Samantha commented: “The most amazing news ever! I am so happy for you guys.” A follower named Sophie said: “Sending my love and strength to the both of you!” The Traitors continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One
