A mum and dad are “beyond broken” after their 17 year-old son died in a car crash. Max Greenhouse was a passenger in a car on Fir Tree Lane in Aughton when the vehicle left the carriageway and crashed into a farm building shortly after 9pm on Wednesday, December 11.
Max suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital but died a short time later. His family paid tribute to him as a “beautiful boy” who was “truly adored”.
A memorial page has now been set up by Max’s family and friends. A statement on the page says: “This site is a tribute to Max Greenhouse. He is much loved and will always be remembered.”
A number of tributes have been left to Max including from his parents. They said: “We are beyond broken. From the minute you were born you brought so much love, joy and happiness to our lives.
“We loved you with every inch of our hearts. Each day gets harder and harder without you in our lives. We miss laughing at your crazy ways, the noise you brought to our home and just your overall presence. The house is empty without you son. We will miss you forever. We love you so much, our beautiful boy.”
Joe Cunnigham added: “To our Max, I miss you more and more every day, little things each day remind me of you. You were one of the best mates I think I’d ever had in life, especially with how much you helped me overcome problems I was facing.
“I hope we’re all doing you proud up there, can’t wait to see you up there one day and have a boogie. I love you forever and always our kid. Forever 17 my boy.” Gaynor Martin said: “RIP Max, you always put a smile on my face. “
The family is accepting family flowers only by request. Donations are being collected in memory of Max for RoadPeace, a national charity for victims of road crashes. At the time of writing, over £3,500 has been raised for the charity.
Max was a Liverpool FC supporter. Yesterday, an applause was held at Anfield in the 17th minute during Liverpool’s Premier League match against Manchester United in memory of Max. This came after his dad issued an appeal on X/Twitter.
Liverpool supporters also carried a red banner in front of The Kop that said: “Max Greenhouse, 2007 to 2024, YNWA.” This was followed by an emotional rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone from the crowd.
