An appeal has been launched for the next of kin of the man, who it is understood had more recently been living in emergency accommodation
A man who had been sleeping rough in Liverpool sadly died earlier this month.
Ian Roberts, aged 52, died on Wednesday January 8 in Liverpool city centre, Merseyside Police have confirmed. There is now an appeal for contact information regarding his next of kin.
The ECHO has confirmed that Mr Roberts had been seen sleeping rough in the city back in November. However this was the only occasion in the past 12 months that he had been seen sleeping on the streets of the city.
It is understood that prior to that date, he had been living in temporary bed and breakfast accommodation and more recently had been in other forms of temporary accommodation. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Roberts’ death.
A statement from Merseyside Police said: “The Liverpool & Wirral Coroner’s Office are appealing for contact information regarding the next of kin for the late Ian Roberts.
“Mr Roberts, 52, of no fixed abode, sadly died on Wednesday 8 January in Liverpool city centre. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Liverpool Coroner’s office said that no inquest into the death of Mr Roberts has been opened at this time.
