The gameshow allows contestants to win an uncapped cash prize
The ITV show Limitless Win, hosted by Britain’s favourite host duo Ant and Dec, returned to screens on Saturday with a new set of hopeful contestants. After a tough game, the show’s first couple Carys and Tim left with £50,000, but were one question away from a £1 million jackpot.
The show sees couples answer general knowledge questions with every correct answer pushing them higher up a limitless ladder of cash. With a pre-set life count, dependant on how many initial quick fire questions they nail, the pair will gain and lose lives as they move through the game.
Carys and Tim had viewers, including celebrity guest Jane McDonald, on “tenterhooks” as they answered most of the questions with what they confessed were mere guesses. Setting their sights on big money, the pair left with an excellent cash prize, although it could have been higher had they not walked away from the £1 million question.
With £50,000 hanging in the balance for most of the second half of their playtime, the couple eventually had to choose to either take the money, or take a chance on becoming millionaires. Fans were quick to share their thoughts on social media.
One X user wrote: “All this just to cash out with £50k on a question they won’t risk.” Another viewer said: “Basically the last 40 minutes have been pointless #limitlesswin.”
This fan said: “Wasting time. The higher it goes, the more difficult the question. Cash out, go home. #limitlesswin.” Despite the couple choosing the safe bet in the end, fans were still pleased for their win.
One X user wrote: “They pretty much wound me up the whole way through that [laughing emojis] but great amount of money to go away with #limitlesswin.”
