Curtis Jones was supported as he shared a personal update. The Liverpool midfielder is enjoying a strong start to this season under Arne Slot.
Jones has flourished in the manager’s new system, picking up two goals and four assists in 21 appearances this season, where he has played both as a holding midfielder and a number 10. His form earned him his first call-up for the England national team earlier this year, scoring against Greece back in November in the UEFA Nations League.
Back in May last year, Jones and his long Saffie Khan announced they were expecting a baby girl. She was born in October and was named Giselle.
Jones reflected on these events in his most recent Instagram post as he shared a series of pictures from on and off the pitch. This included one of Saffie and Giselle watching Jones at an England game, former Everton star Anthony Gordon taking Jones’ picture after receiving his first cap and him in a restaurant with fellow Liverpool players Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo.
In the caption, Jones said: “A year to remember, here’s to 2025. Happy New Year.” Hundreds of people in the comments sent their support to Jones.
This included Saffie who said: “Unforgettable”. Meanwhile Gakpo left emojis of a paper clip and a red love heart, emphasising their close friendship.
Speaking about Gakpo before the birth of his daughter, Jones said: “(Me and Cody) are really tight, so I spend time with him. His girlfriend and mine always talk as well. Obviously he’s got a kid already, so she’s helping her out with certain things. He’s my brother.” Gakpo is a Dutch attacker for the Reds and scored in the team’s most recent match against Manchester United on Sunday.
