Bradley Walsh was back on our screens on Tuesday afternoon to host a new instalment of The Chase
Bradley Walsh didn’t hold back on his critique of the team’s performance on The Chase, branding it “disastrous”.
The 64 year old host introduced four new hopefuls who faced off against quiz master Darragh Ennis, aiming to win a cash prize.
First up was Ian, a 65 year old actor from London, who managed to answer only two questions correctly in the cash builder, bringing £2,000 to the table.
Despite being tempted by Darragh with lower and higher offers of £200 and £20,000 respectively, Ian decided to play it safe with his initial amount. Unfortunately, he was caught by Darragh before re-joining his teammates.
Following Ian was Dianne, a 32 year old structural engineer, who got just one question right in the cash builder. She bravely opted to go for the high offer of £25,000 instead of sticking with the meagre £1,000, but like Ian, she too was caught by Darragh, reports the Express.
Ruth, a 55 year old cycling instructor, then stepped up, hoping to turn the tide with the day’s best cash builder score of three correct answers.

Despite Jason’s advice to take the £1,000, Ruth went for £3,000, only to be caught by Darragh shortly after. It was at this point that Bradley expressed his concern for the team, remarking: “This is really disastrous for my team.”
Finally, 29 year old Jason, a doctor from Bristol, took his turn, answering five questions correctly in the cash builder.
However, when Darragh tempted him with a staggering £100,000 to move closer, he couldn’t resist. Unfortunately for Jason, Darragh was relentless and caught him before he could return.
With all the contestants eliminated, they were given the chance to bring one person back for the final chase. The team selected Jason, who managed to answer 12 questions correctly on his own.
But he was no match for The Menace, who caught up with him with 49 seconds to spare.
At the conclusion of the programme, Darragh highlighted the significance of considering the lower offer, suggesting that he might have been defeated if Jason’s teammates had made it to the final chase.
The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV and ITVX.
