Silent Witness: Tina is revealed as the killer
Silent Witness fans were left reeling as the gripping two-part episode concluded with a shocking twist. The BBC forensic drama had viewers on the edge of their seats as they tried to unravel the mystery behind the murders linked to Thamesmead Council’s housing associates.
After Monday’s gruesome murders, Tuesday’s episode (January 14) saw another hammer attack, prompting the Lyell team to uncover a web of blackmail and conspiracy involving local authorities. As Superintendent Jane De Freitas closed in on the suspect, Claire was surprisingly cleared, revealing her sister Tina as the mastermind behind the hammer killings.
On X (formerly Twitter), one viewer claimed to have predicted the killer’s identity, saying: “Without even watching the 2nd part, my non-expert opinion is that the sister is the killer.”

The second instalment revealed the housing association’s culpability in relocating low-income tenants to an asbestos-ridden building.
Tina then sought revenge on those accountable for her sister’s terminal illness, as well as her own childhood traumas, as the complex narrative unfolded.
Viewers praised the episodes on social media, with one writing: “Another excellent two-parter, writers and actors really on form.”
Another commented: “An absolutely brilliant and exciting conclusion to #Homecoming
The end of the investigation was shocking and totally unexpected and kept me on the edge of my seat! Cleverly written by #EdWhitmore.”
