The Liverpool-born comedian lifted the Strictly Glitterball trophy on Saturday
Chris McCausland made history last week after lifting the Glitterball trophy when he won Strictly Come Dancing alongside professional dancer partner Dianne Buswell. Not only did he win the competition but he was the first blind contestant to take part in the BBC dance show where he wowed the nation with his dancing abilities.
The 47-year-old’s inspiring journey alongside Dianne Buswell has captured the hearts of the nation and his incredible efforts were rewarded.
In an interview with Magic FM, alongside fellow Scouse comedian Lee Mack, Chris said he was still recovering from the final before sharing how emotional the whole process was. The 47-year-old described the resilience and determination needed to endure the two months on the dancefloor.

Chris said: “The further you go the more you realise well I’m in this far. I’ve wasted the last two months if I don’t take this seriously, you know and really put the fourteen hours a day into it, but you don’t realise how emotional it is and you don’t realise how emotional it makes people and yourself.”
He threw The 1% Club host Lee Mack under the bus when he announced the presenter had “shed a tear” on Saturday night before Lee intervened admitting he was “emotional” but “mainly because it was taking so long”.
The comedians will star in festive special ‘Bad Tidings’ together this Christmas. The Sky Original will see the two Liverpool-born stars go from enemies to heroes. In the comedy one-off special viewers can watch as the pair cause havoc in the lead up to Christmas. Home security expert, Neil, played by Lee Mack, has a problem with his neighbour. Scott, played by Chris McCausland.
When a burglary takes place on the street it is down to the two comedian’s characters to save Christmas by putting their differences aside and working together. This is not the first time the pair have teamed up on a project. They appeared on an episode of sitcom Not Going Out last year and have also presented at the BAFTAs together.
