Police were confronted with the shocking scene on Boxing Day
This is the shocking scene of a horror crash that left one car completely destroyed – with a passenger trapped inside. Emergency services rushed to the single-vehicle collision on the Isle of Man around 4am this morning, December 26.
A photo released by the fire service reveals the aftermath, with the front of the vehicle horrendously crushed. The roof had to be removed by firefighters to release the trapped person inside. Incredibly, no lives were lost in the incident, though there’s no word yet on the extent of the injuries suffered.
Station Officer David Cowley from the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue commented: “This was an avoidable incident which has unfortunately spoiled the Christmas period for all involved.”
The responding crews attended the site at Jurby Road, connecting Ramsey to Sandygate, providing immediate care to an individual outside the vehicle. A second passenger was trapped inside the vehicle by their injuries and pinned inside by the wreckage of the vehicle. Crews used electric hydraulic cutting and spreading equipment to free the casualty before they could be handed over to the Ambulance Service, reports lancslive.
