Back in July, the ECHO reported how easyJet announced two new routes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport – Oslo, Norway and Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt – with the Norwegian capital offering flights twice a week. At the time, Paul Winfield, aviation director for Liverpool John Lennon Airport said: “We are excited to announce a further two new routes, meaning eight new routes will start this winter season, complementing new services to Hurghada, Corfu and Enfidha.
“The new route to Oslo will allow football supporters to fly direct to Liverpool to see the reds, whilst Sharm El Sheikh is an exciting new long sector addition to the network.” On their website, Liverpool John Lennon Airport said: “For the perfect Nordic adventure, Oslo, the capital of Norway, is the perfect destination for your next city break.
“If you are looking for a holiday full of stunning architecture, plenty of museums and galleries, and of course, good food – Oslo is the perfect place.” Here we take a look at the some of the things you can enjoy while on a trip to Oslo.

What are the best attractions in Oslo?
There is so much to see and do in Oslo. One thing that attracts tourists every year is the Akershus Fortress. Built in 1299 as a residence for the Norwegian Royal Family, it is one of the country’s most significant medieval monuments. Oslo is also home to a number of popular museums.
This includes the Holmenkollen Ski Museum & Tower – which boasts the world’s largest collection of skis and winter gear. You can also visit Fram Museum, where you can go on board the strongest wooden ship ever built.
On your trip, you can also cruise down the scenic Oslofjord. The inlet offers incredible views of coastal landmarks. If you don’t mind travelling a little further out from the city centre, there are other great things to do and see. One of them is Ekebergparken sculpture park, which boasts not only beautiful nature, but incredible sculptures by renowned artists.
