One of the most demanded answers in the world of showbiz is what happened on the fishing trip on Gavin and Stacey. The ongoing secret has been keep under wraps since the show first aired in 2007 and to this day viewers are still non the wiser.
Tonight is the last Gavin and Stacey episode to ever air and many fans have came to terms with the fact they will never know the truth. One teaser aired tonight showed Jason, Brynn and Dave’s Coaches discussing the infamous trip but before the truth could finally be revealed the fire alarm sounded.
The fishing trip is a running joke in the show. It refers to something that happened between Bryn and Jason, whatever happened caused extreme and long-lasting embarrassment to both. On X, formerly known as Twitter, a fan of the BBC show posted: “The fishing trip going from the only thing we asked for, to now being the one thing we’ll never know anything about.”
A second post stated: “I will rip my Christmas tree down if we don’t find out what happened on the fishing trip” and the annoyance continued with posts such as: “So once again they have teased us into thinking they were going to tell us what happened at the fishing trip.”
One fan of the show since it aired in 2007 said: “We’ve waited seventeen years to find out what happened on that fishing trip. And we’ll never know.”
