‘America’s version of Hitler’: Newsmax pundit reminds Trump adviser of J.D. Vance’s insult

Newsmax pundit Ellis Henican reminded John Elliot, a senior adviser to President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign, that Vice President-elect J.D. Vance had once insulted his running mate by comparing him to Adolf Hitler.During a Sunday discussion on Newsmax, a right-wing news network, Henican argued that Elliot could improve civil discourse by appearing on mainstream outlets like MSNBC.”Here I am on Sunday morning talking to you guys,” Henican noted. “I wish John would go and spend more time on MSNBC, and that all of us would talk to people whose views we did not entirely share. Very few Americans do that anymore.”In his defense, Elliot argued that CNN and MSNBC did not want him to appear on the network unless he was a “never-Trumper.””So I think a lot of that is not willingness to go over there,” he said. “It’s a lot of those programs want to just hear from their own side. And that’s mainly on the left, I mean, mainly MSNBC.””I mean, it’s a complete echo chamber, whereas here on Newsmax and on other conservative networks, you see they do want to bring in other voices,” the Trump campaign adviser continued. “You’ve had eight years basically of the liberal media, big media, big tech, universities, government agencies like the FBI, all conspiring and actually waging lawfare against this president and completely painting him as some type of a threat to democracy.” “And then as soon as he wins, you have Morning Joe and Mika going down to see the president one week afterward that they were calling him a Hitler, basically, and in some ways absolutely Hitler.”Henican responded with a reminder: “It was a J.D. Vance who called Donald Trump America’s version of Hitler.
