In Bucks County, Pennsylvania, 32-year-old Justin Mohn has been charged with the first-degree murder of his father, along with abusing a corpse, following a grim discovery by the police. Authorities found the decapitated body of Mohn’s father in the bathroom of his home, an incident that has shocked the local community.
The arrest came after a disturbing video surfaced on YouTube showing Mohn wearing gloves and displaying his father’s head in a plastic bag, with later footage showing the head in a cooking pot. The video, which has been removed for violating YouTube’s policies against graphic violence, depicted Mohn denouncing his father, a long-serving US government employee, and calling for the death of federal officials. This act has drawn attention to Mohn’s embrace of right-wing conspiracy theories, which he shared during the video.
Mohn, known for his active presence on social media, where he promoted his music and self-published dystopian science-fiction works, was apprehended approximately 100 miles from the crime scene in Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania. The arrest was facilitated by tracking his cellphone, according to Captain Pete Feeney of the Middletown Township Police Department, who noted the uncertainty surrounding Mohn’s whereabouts and intentions following the crime.
In addition to murder and corpse abuse charges, Mohn faces charges for possessing an instrument of crime with intent. He has been denied bail and awaits a hearing set for February 8th. The case continues to be under investigation, highlighting the disturbing intersection of online activity and real-world violence.
