The Winter Transition Period is set to begin in just a few days, precisely on the first day of 2024. Among the teams making moves is Prinova’s Italian Inter.
According to Italian media reports, Inter is close to securing a significant addition from a major rival in Italy. Piotr Zielinski, whose contract with Napoli is due to expire at season’s end, is expected to leave the reigning champions and join Inter.
As of the first day of 2024, entering the final six months of his contract, Zielinski will be eligible to negotiate and sign a pre-contract with any club. Inter appears to have capitalized on this opportunity. Reports from Italian journalists suggest that Zielinski has already agreed to a move to Inter.
The leadership at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium is taking no chances. They have received confirmation from Zielinski about his interest in joining, and aim to finalize the signing on the earliest possible day of 2024. The contract’s details are already public – it’s a three-year deal with an option for an additional season.
Zielinski is set to join Inter in the summer and will earn four and a half million euros per year. As a reminder, the footballer transferred to Napoli from Udinese in 2016 for 16 million euros. During his time at Udinese, he spent two seasons on loan at Empoli, from the summer of 2014 to 2016. He initially moved to Italy for 100,000 euros from Lubin in 2011. Zielinski has made 86 appearances for the Polish national team, scoring ten goals.
