Concerns Arise Over US Senate Leader’s Health: Mitch McConnell, the US Senate Republican leader, has raised concerns about his health again as he appeared to freeze for more than 30 seconds during a public appearance. This incident comes months after a similar occurrence in July that sparked speculation about his well-being.
During a recent event, when asked about his re-election plans, the 81-year-old Kentucky Republican paused and stared before eventually responding to another question. This incident follows a previous occurrence where he froze mid-sentence and stared vacantly for about 20 seconds during a press conference.
McConnell’s health has been the subject of scrutiny due to his speech becoming more halting and his walk slower than usual. Last month, he appeared to lose his train of thought during a press conference, sparking questions about his well-being. McConnell has also been seen using a wheelchair when commuting to and from Kentucky.
Earlier this year, McConnell was absent from the Senate for six weeks due to a concussion and a broken rib sustained after falling and hitting his head at an event. In response to his recent episode, a spokesperson for McConnell stated that he had felt momentarily light-headed and would be consulting a doctor before his next public event.
