According to web data company, Quiver Quantitive, Threads is close to reaching the 100 million users milestone within just 4 days of launch.
Threads, positioned as an alternative to Elon Musk’s Twitter, has gained traction quickly, even surpassing Twitter’s user base of 237.8 million as of July 2022. Threads bears a resemblance to Twitter in terms of its interface, allowing users to post text and links, engage in replies, and share others’ messages. Users can also import their existing follower lists and account names from Instagram, another popular app by Meta, known for its extensive user base of over 2 billion, including major brands, celebrities, and creators.
Threads has achieved remarkable success in a short time, currently holding the top position among free apps on Apple Inc’s App Store in the United States.
Earlier this week, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared the milestone on his Threads account, announcing, “70 million sign-ups on Threads as of this morning. That’s way beyond our expectations.”
The overwhelming response to Threads highlights the strong interest in Meta’s latest venture and the potential for further growth and engagement within the social media landscape.
