Emanuel Harrold, a drummer, producer, and educator who has won multiple Grammy Awards, has released a new video for his song “See.” The song is from his critically acclaimed album “We Da People,” which was released at the beginning of the year on Gearbox Records, a London tastemaker label that specializes in analog music (Binker Golding, Roland Kirk, The Cookers, Abdullah Ibrahim).

“We Da People” is a new chapter in Harrold’s solo career after he established himself both live and on record by collaborating with Damon Albarn, Keyon Harrold, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, De La Soul, and Gregory Porter. Positive messages and improvisational sounds that transcend R&B, jazz, soul, gospel, and funk make up the album. In addition, Gregory Porter, Charles Ransom II and Crystal “Crissy” Ransom, Jahmal Nichols, Carlos “Scooter” Brown, Tivon Pennicott, Joel Holmes, Brian Owens, and a number of other highly regarded guest musicians appear on the release.

The lead single, “I Think,” was released shortly after, featuring Shareef Keyes, a Ghostface Killah and Bun B collaborator, sings on the song “See,” which was written by Gregory Porter, a two-time GRAMMY winner. The accompanying video was shot in South Africa’s historic town of Soweto. The residence of Bishop Tutu and Nelson Mandela.

Harrold says in the video, “‘See’ feat. Shareef Keyes’ message represents love, humility, and freedom. I was inspired to shoot in South Africa by the energy of the towns and communities I visited, employing a community-sourced SA film crew, director, and cast. I’d love to learn more about the beautiful people, artists, and culture of South Africa.

He continues by discussing the track in greater detail, describing it as “the idea of being a productive, resilient human in many aspects of your community.” a steadfast work ethic and a modest life. the desire to remain in existence.
