At a recent campaign event in Minnesota, President Joe Biden responded to a protestor’s interruption by calling for a “humanitarian pause” in the Israel-Gaza conflict. The goal of this pause is to allow more time for the safe extraction of “prisoners” from the affected region.
The protester, who introduced herself as Rabbi Jessica Rosenberg, implored President Biden to initiate a cease-fire. “Mr. President, you care about Jewish people. As a rabbi, I need you to call for a cease-fire right now,” Rosenberg stated. After her interjection, the president addressed her concerns and highlighted the need for a pause in the conflict.
Ongoing negotiations to free 239 hostages, which include children and the elderly, have persisted since the Hamas terror attack on October 7th, which resulted in approximately 1,400 Israeli casualties.
Contrary to the general stance of the White House, which has refrained from prescribing a response to Israel regarding the Hamas attack, President Biden’s comments underscored a differing perspective. He firmly stated, “Hamas is a terrorist organization — a flat-out terrorist organization.”
