Manchester City’s undefeated streak in the Premier League came to an end with a surprising 2-1 loss to Wolves, while Manchester United suffered a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace. Meanwhile, Arsenal secured a 4-0 victory against Bournemouth, and Aston Villa dominated Brighton with a 6-1 win.

City, who had won their first six games of the season, aimed to make history by winning a fourth consecutive English top-flight title. However, Wolves, who had struggled in their previous matches, managed to shock the champions with an own goal from Ruben Dias. City retaliated with a free-kick goal by Julian Alvarez, but Wolves sealed the victory with Hwang Hee-chan’s goal.

Pep Guardiola, City’s manager, expressed his disappointment with the team’s performance, saying they need to do better even when they win. Guardiola watched the match from the stands due to suspension.

United’s loss against Crystal Palace added more pressure to their under-fire manager Erik ten Hag. Joachim Andersen’s remarkable volley gave Palace the lead at Old Trafford. Despite United’s midweek victory over Palace in the League Cup, they struggled to find the back of the net in this match.

Arsenal, on the other hand, climbed to second place in the table with a comfortable 4-0 win against Bournemouth. Bukayo Saka, who had been a doubt due to injury, opened the scoring with a headed goal. Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz also found the net, while Ben White sealed the victory in stoppage time.

Newcastle continued their recovery from a slow start to the season with a 2-0 win over Burnley. Miguel Almiron and Alexander Isak secured the three points for the Magpies.

In a stunning display, Ollie Watkins scored a hat-trick as Aston Villa demolished Brighton 6-1. Watkins became the first Villa player in 47 years to score two hat-tricks in one season. Jacob Ramsey and Douglas Luiz also contributed to Villa’s victory.

Luton celebrated their first-ever Premier League win with a 2-1 victory over Everton, while Sheffield United remain at the bottom of the table after a 2-0 defeat to West Ham.
