The video from a 2021 incident, wherein a drive-thru worker at a Texas Jack-in-the-Box opened fire on a South Florida family following an altercation over French fries, has been unveiled by the family’s attorney.
Captured by surveillance cameras, the video details the events of the March 2021 dispute at the eatery located close to the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston. Miami resident Anthony Ramos, accompanied by his pregnant spouse and their 6-year-old child, visited the restaurant during a work trip. An altercation ensued between the family and employee Alonniea Ford over a French fries order.
In the now-released footage, Ford is seen hurling items from the drive-thru window at the Ramos’ vehicle, subsequently producing a firearm and shooting at their car.
Following the event, Ford admitted guilt to a charge of deadly conduct. However, the incident didn’t end there. Ramos and his family have since initiated legal action against Jack-in-the-Box, contending that the corporation should more rigorously vet its employees. Recalling the traumatic incident, Ramos expressed, “With my daughter in the backseat and my then-pregnant wife beside me, the situation felt completely unacceptable.”
In response to the lawsuit’s announcement last year, a representative from Jack-in-the-Box refrained from commenting, mentioning their policy of not discussing legal concerns, “especially when they involve independent franchise holders.”
