A young girl was fatally stabbed in South London. The tragedy unfolded around 8.30am, with the teenager declared dead approximately an hour later, as per Scotland Yard.
Authorities have reported the subsequent arrest of a teenage boy in connection to the incident.
Local Chief Superintendent, Andy Brittain, expressed his deep condolences, stating, “Our immediate thoughts are with this young girl’s family who are facing the most tragic of news.” The police force is currently providing support to the bereaved family.
Following the incident, police were swiftly on the scene, offering first aid in collaboration with paramedics. Intelligence acquired from the public aided officers from both the Met and British Transport Police in locating a suspect, who was apprehended in the Croydon area around 9.45am. Preliminary investigations indicate the arrested teenager might have been acquainted with the victim.
