A nurse, Lucy Letby, in her mid-20s, has been convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder others while working at the Countess of Chester Hospital’s neonatal unit between June 2015 and June 2016. This shocking case makes her the most prolific child killer of modern times in the UK.
The verdicts were delivered over several days, with the judge imposing reporting restrictions until the trial’s conclusion.
